You might think that travelling with babies is a nightmare, yet many people do it successfully and find it a rewarding experience.
My parents took me travelling when I was a baby and although I can’t remember any of it, it might have had an impact on me to make me love travelling so much as I do now. So how do you travel with a baby and make it a success?
Here’s some tips I have been told from people who have done it successfully.
1.) Don’t pack too much – If you pack the kitchen sink, chances are you are going to find yourself in trouble at some point. Take only what you absolutely need. make smart choices and pack modern cloth nappies instead of disposable diapers.
2.) Plan ahead – Know where pharmacies are and local hospitals, have a “if things go wrong” plan at all times with a phrase book to know how to ask locals for help.
3.)Safety nets – Have at least one international credit card with travel insurance and ample reserve funds incase something goes wrong. Many platinum credit cards have many features including 24/7 concierge service – this could be particularly handy if things go wrong
4.)Baby friendly accommodation – many hotels have additional services to help you with your baby, such as baby accessories, in house doctors and baby supplies. Check with the hotels what they can offer before making your hotel booking.
